About the McKees Rocks CDC
We’re a nonprofit with one job: help McKees Rocks and Stowe Township thrive — for the people who live here now and the people yet to come.
The McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation (MRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2004. Since then, we’ve helped facilitate nearly $100M in economic development [VERIFY] — restoring a landmark theatre, returning a 52-acre brownfield to productive use, renovating homes, supporting small businesses, and building the plans and partnerships that make a comeback possible.
What We Believe
Integrity
Honesty and transparency are critical to achieving transformational results.
Commitment
Continued diligence is necessary to facilitate community development and achieve our long-term vision.
Collaboration
Partnerships for development and investment are vital to our sustainability and the community’s success.
Heritage
Treasuring our rich history will enrich our future
accomplishments.

Our work organizes around four goals:
Facilitate commercial development
a redeveloped Roxian Theatre, Main Street development on Chartiers Avenue, private development on our properties, and riverfront development that anchors business and resident attraction.
Foster neighborhood stabilization
well-maintained homes, a growing Block Watch, infrastructure advocacy, and partnerships that help residents succeed.
Grow community pride
engaging young people, changing the narrative about our town, and celebrating progress through events.
Ensure organizational sustainability
sound funding, financial management, and governance so the mission endures.
