Incentives & Support
McKees Rocks doesn’t just have low costs — it has real, stackable incentives and a partner that knows how to use them.
Up to 25% of project costs in state tax credits, up to $500,000.
Employers save roughly 0.55% of gross payroll compared to many neighboring municipalities.
Local real-estate tax abatement for qualifying
improvements, as used to help deliver the Roxian Theatre.
Federal and state credits for qualifying rehabs of
the area’s many historic structures.
The community qualifies for numerous funding
programs that prioritize or are restricted to low- and moderate-income areas.
“Making It in McKees Rocks”
In 2018, the CDC launched “Making It… in McKees Rocks,” a series of short films highlighting the people, places, and businesses of the region — part of a deliberate push to rebrand the community and attract new investment. The films take you inside the industrial facilities along the Ohio River and into the specialty shops of the business districts.
“When you see what the businesses make in the community on a daily basis, it’s amazing. The videos highlight the great untold story of McKees Rocks — not just its manufacturing legacy, but the current state of the manufacturing district.”

The CDC as your development partner
Incentives are only as good as the team helping you capture them. The McKees Rocks CDC has helped facilitate nearly $100M in economic development by doing the work that de-risks projects:
