Our Story

Some places have a history. McKees Rocks has an epic. The ground beneath this town has been continuously inhabited for roughly 5,000 years — since before Greece and Rome existed. It was a Native American crossroads, a trading post at the mouth of Chartiers Creek, a site George Washington himself surveyed, and one of the great manufacturing engines of industrial Pittsburgh. Today it’s writing its next chapter.
